From the beginning, NEC has proposed change in the electric power industry. Through intelligent and innovative engineering and a long history of power development, NEC continues to pursue top quality environmental solutions for power generation.

Most power plants burn fossil fuel - coal, oil, and natural gas - which creates steam to drive a turbine that generates electricity. However, the need to harness energy from alternative sources, like solid waste, landfill gas, biomass, and concentrated solar thermal, is increasing in demand from communities around the world. NEC has developed power plants under some of the world's toughest environmental standards, including working with the U.S. EPA, the California Air Resources Board (CARB), and Southern California's Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) for more than 30 years, the Company has developed specialized plant designs that meet the toughest emissions standards.

NEC’s designs incorporate advanced technology and equipment to significantly reduce air pollution, including SOx, NOx, HCl, particulates, dioxin, etc. From this accumulated design expertise, NEC is able to develop power plant projects to meet any air standards around the world, regardless of the fuel type. NEC continues to be on the forefront of energy intelligence design, delivering power generation solutions that best fit the needs of the population and the environment.
